Freshwater Rods - High End, Mid Range, and Budget
There is a lot of hoopla and hype in the marketing of fishing tackle, just like in most things. It can be hard to separate the substance from the sizzle. I have tried to do that to the best of my ability on this site by highlighting some things that have worked well for me. Below are recommendations for some of the best frehswater rods I know of. These are my unbiased opinions as I am not compensated by any of these tackle companies. I don't care what brand you buy,.
High End - Daiwa Steez
These are some sick, sick rods. Not cheap, but unbelievably light. From Daiwa's website: "Every component is engineered for the optimum in lightness, strength and sensitivity. And the blank? Pure technology—SVF Graphite. SVF Graphite—Super Volume Fiber technology packs unidirectional graphite fiber into a denser form—with exact resin control—for greater strength, lighter weight and incredible sensitivity. Choose from amazingly flexible SVF Fle-X-Lite Graphite, extra strong SVF Graphite, or super sensitive SVF Compile-X." A fine line of rods for Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Peacock Bass, Pike, and other freshwater fish.
These are not cheap, but you can feel the difference in quality as soon as you touch one. Then you will not be able to go back to regular rods. If you were thinking of getting one anyway and learned anything useful from this site, I would appreciate it if you purchased it through the links below:
