This Leopard Grouper fell for a Pink and Blue Yo Zuri Crystal Minnow in Baja, Mexico

Yo Zuri Crystal Minnow Review

The Yo Zuri Crystal Minnow is a versatile lure that catches almost any mid sized fresh or saltwater fish that eats baitfish.  It comes in floating, suspending, and sinking versions and several sizes.  I usually fish them quickly with rapid snaps of the rod followed by pauses.  The strikes usually come on the pauses.  I like to mix up the retrieve with a snap-snap-snap-pause, snap-snap-pause, snap-long pause, etc.  I experiment with the speed until I find out what the fish want.  I have even caught a few fish while trolling these but there are definitely better lures for trolling than this.  This lure really excels as a jerkbait.

These lures are extremely reflective and even show up well at night.  Different colors work better or worse in different situations but I usually start off with the blue/silver patterns.  I have caught fish on pretty much all of them.  They don't cast very well into the wind (especially the floating versions) so if you have to the cast into the wind you might want to pick a different lure.  The stock split rings and treble hooks are pretty high quality and I don't automatically change them out like I do with some other lures.
